In addition there is attached the lawsuit between almond growers and State Parks over whether or not the easement into the park allows non-traditional access. Plaintiffs content that easement (going back to the 1850s) states that only historical uses are allowed, such as access to single family residences and work related uses. The State contends "historic" refers to the old nature of the easement and that there is no other restrictions. Non-the-less State Parks representatives meet with the concerned neighbors regularly and have agreed to allowing around 200 visitors into the 1,785-acre property per year. |
